Pola Pola Pola

‘Pola Pola Pola’ is a performance, told in two acts it brings together cinematic and familial histories to question how we absorb stories we are told, what sticks with us and what gets lost in the vast see of information we encounter everyday.

Bringing together multiple sources; from emails, quotes, music, film, stories and hyperlinks the audience is built a picture of the extraordinary (and often quite contradictory) life of Pola Negri, the first ‘European import’ to Hollywood in the 1930’s alongside the story of an American retracing his ancestors lives in Poland in the early 2000’s.
